The Advantages of Free VPK
The early years of a child’s life are the most critical to their growth. Studies show 90% of brain development occurs before the age of 5. VPK is the perfect environment to enrich children’s growth during such an important period of time for their young minds. Children are naturally curious and eager to learn new things. At Bayside Discovery Center our aim is to make VPK a place that children are excited to come to, as well as a place where they can learn, make friends, and explore.
While observers may think children are just attending a large playtime at VPK, this “learning by doing” style of experiential teaching is what helps young children develop essential life skills. It allows them to be creative and observe the world around them. In VPK, children will learn to communicate and cooperate with their peers. They’ll pick up important math and reading skills that will give them a head start in kindergarten.
VPK benefits children mentally as well as physically. It gives them a chance to build up their fine and gross motor skills through running, drawing, and other fun activities. Sending your children to school each day fosters independence. This helps the transition to kindergarten for children; and for parents!
